“Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe

“Route of the Historic Cafes”

During the 2017 forum of the “Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe that was held  in Lucca, Italy, the Founder and President of the European Historic Cafes Association (EHICA), Mr. Vasilis Stathakis, officially announced to Mr. Stefano Dominioni that he started working, in cooperation with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture &  Historic Cafes – members of EHICA, in making the dossier of a new Cultural Route, by the name ” Historic Cafes Route”.

Moreover, the history of Europe’s Historic Cafes – both for their architecture and for their philosophy, the personalities they hosted, the events they organized – always will offer inexhaustible study material.

Already, Historic Cafes from 12 countries, Greece, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Malta, Slovakia, Hungary, Belgium & Denmark are interested in participating in this ambitious “Route”.

For this new “Cultural Route”, but also for the hosting of the 10th International Advisory Forum “Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe which will take place in Chania, 2020, Mr. Vasilis Stathakis has already proceeded to meetings with the Hellenic Minister of Tourism – Mrs. Elena Kountoura, the Minister of Culture and Sports- Mrs. Lydia Koniordou, and the President of the Hellenic National Committee for UNESCO,  Mrs. Maria – Aikaterini Papachristopoulou- Tzitzikosta.

Also, on 16.7.2018 – on the same subject – Mr. Vasilis Stathakis had a meeting in the Presidential Megaron with the President of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos. The President of the Hellenic Republic emphasized to Mr. Vasilis Stathakis that he will provide all the possible help for his efforts, as well as in any effort that promotes Greece and contributes to its international image.

On the same subject the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis, and the Founder and President of the European Historic Cafes Association (EHICA), Mr. Vassilis Stathakis, had a meeting at the Presidential Mansion in Nicosia on Thursday 16 May.
The purpose of the meeting was the briefing of Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis for the International Forum “Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe that will be hosted in Chania on 7th & 9th of October 2020.
Mr. Stathakis officially invited Mr. Anastasiades to the International Forum, which will bring together representatives from the Council of Europe as well as delegates from more than 50 countries.
